Privacy Policy
Short version: VoxPic collects no personal information from you or your child. All data lives on your device. We never sell, share, or upload your information.
1. What data we collect
VoxPic collects no personal information. There is no account registration, no login, and no analytics running inside the app. We do not collect names, email addresses, device identifiers, location, or any other personal or sensitive data.
2. What stays on your device
All pictogram images, communication boards, user profiles, and app preferences are stored locally on your device using Android Room (SQLite database) and Android DataStore. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly use the export/backup feature to save a file yourself.
3. Children under 13 (COPPA)
VoxPic is designed for use by or alongside children with communication needs. We do not knowingly collect personal information from any user, including children under 13. Because we collect nothing, there is nothing to delete or correct — all data is on your device and under your full control.
If you believe your child has submitted personal information through our app in error, please contact us at support@voxpic.net.
4. Google Play Billing
The VoxPic Pro subscription is processed entirely through Google Play Billing. VoxPic never receives, stores, or has access to your payment card details, billing address, or any financial information. All billing is governed by Google Play's Terms of Service.
5. OpenSymbols API
When you search for pictograms using the in-app search feature, your search text (the keyword you type) is sent to the OpenSymbols API (opensymbols.org) to retrieve matching images. No user identifiers, device IDs, or personal information are attached to these requests. OpenSymbols is a publicly accessible pictogram repository.
6. Analytics on this website
This website (www.voxpic.net) uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors find and use the site. GA4 is only active on this website — it is not embedded in the VoxPic Android app. Analytics on this site is consent-gated: tracking only begins after you accept the cookie notice. You may decline analytics at any time.
7. Data deletion requests
Because all app data is stored locally on your device, you can delete it at any time by uninstalling VoxPic or clearing app data in your Android Settings. For any other deletion request related to your use of this website or our services, email us at support@voxpic.net and we will respond within 5 business days.
8. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "Effective date" at the top and, where appropriate, notify users via the app or the Google Play Store listing. Continued use of VoxPic after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
