Frequently Asked Questions
What Android version is required?
VoxPic requires Android 14 or newer (released August 2023). It is optimized for tablets and larger phones. Check your device's Android version under Settings → About phone → Android version.
Does VoxPic work offline?
Yes — boards, pictograms, and text-to-speech all work completely offline. An internet connection is only needed when you search for new pictograms using the built-in OpenSymbols image search.
How do I add pictograms?
You have two options: search the built-in OpenSymbols library (thousands of free AAC pictograms) using the search bar inside any board, or tap "From gallery" to pick any image already saved on your device.
What is included in the free plan?
The free plan includes 1 user, up to 6 boards, and all three grid sizes (2×2, 3×2, 3×3). Full text-to-speech and all Fitzgerald Key colors are included at no cost — no feature gating on core communication.
Can multiple children use the app?
Yes — VoxPic Pro supports unlimited users and profiles on one device. Each profile has its own boards, pictograms, and TTS settings. Create a separate profile per child from the main screen.
How do I cancel my Pro subscription?
Open the Google Play Store app → tap your profile icon (top right) → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → VoxPic Pro → Cancel subscription. Your Pro access continues until the end of the current billing period.
Is my child's data safe?
All data — boards, pictograms, profiles, and preferences — is stored only on your device. Nothing is uploaded to our servers or shared with any third party. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
How do I back up my boards?
Board backup is available on the Pro plan. Go to Settings → Backup → Export to save a JSON file to your device storage. You can restore it later from the same menu, or transfer it to a new device.
