Terms of Service

1. License grant

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use VoxPic on Android devices you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial purposes.

You may not:

• Copy, modify, or distribute VoxPic or its source code
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app
• Use VoxPic to build a competing product or service
• Remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or proprietary notices

2. Free plan

VoxPic offers a free plan at no cost, which includes 1 user profile and up to 6 communication boards. The free plan is available indefinitely. We reserve the right to adjust free plan limits in the future with reasonable notice.

3. Pro subscription

VoxPic Pro is a paid subscription that unlocks unlimited users, unlimited boards, and board backup/restore. The subscription is billed through Google Play according to the pricing displayed in the Play Store listing at the time of purchase.

• Billing: Google Play charges your chosen payment method on a recurring basis (monthly or annual, as selected).
• Free trial: Every first-time installation of VoxPic includes a 7-day full Pro trial at no charge, beginning the first time you open the app. No payment method is required. The trial is granted once per device — uninstalling and reinstalling the app after the trial has ended does not restart or extend the trial period. If you do not start a paid subscription before the trial ends, your account automatically reverts to the Free tier. Any boards, profiles, users, or backup data that exceed the Free-tier limits are locked rather than deleted, and are instantly restored if you subscribe at any time.
• Cancellation: You may cancel your paid subscription at any time through Google Play. Access to Pro features continues until the end of the current billing period. No partial refunds are issued for unused time.
• Refunds: Refund requests are handled by Google Play under their standard refund policy. Contact Google Play support for refund inquiries.
• Price changes: We may change subscription prices. Current subscribers will be notified at least 30 days in advance via Google Play before any price change takes effect.

4. Age requirement

VoxPic is intended for use by adults (parents, caregivers, teachers, and therapists) on behalf of children with communication needs. If you are under the age of 13, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian to use this app. We do not knowingly allow children to enter into binding agreements.

5. User content

Any images, custom pictograms, or text you add to VoxPic remain yours. All content is stored locally on your device. You are responsible for ensuring that any images you add do not infringe third-party copyright or violate applicable laws.

6. Third-party services

VoxPic integrates with the following third-party services, each subject to their own terms:

• OpenSymbols — pictogram image search
• Google Play Billing — Pro subscription payments
• Android Text-to-Speech engine — provided by your device manufacturer or Google

7. Disclaimer of warranties

VoxPic is a communication aid tool. It is not a medical device and does not replace professional speech-language therapy or medical advice.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, VoxPic and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to your use of the app, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective date" above. Your continued use of VoxPic after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
